Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the following app developed by Alpaca, an individual developer ("we", "us"):

• Android (Google Play): Text to Speech — package name: com.alpaca.android.readout

The app may appear under a different name depending on your language. In this policy, it is called "the App".

Summary

• The App does not require an account, and we do not run servers that receive your information.
• Your text and files stay on your device unless you choose to share or export them.
• The App uses the third-party services listed below for ads, crash reports, analytics, and purchases. Except as described in this policy, these services receive device identifiers and technical data, not your content.

Information stored on your device

Text you type or paste and files you open are handled on your device. If you enter a web address (URL), the App downloads that page directly from the website, which receives your IP address like any web browser request.

Uninstalling the App deletes this information from your device.

Text-to-speech

The App reads text aloud using the text-to-speech engine on your device (such as Speech Services by Google on Android). Some voices of that engine may process text online, according to the policy of the engine's provider. We do not receive the text.

Third-party services

Advertising (Google AdMob and partners)

We use Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob and its ad partners may collect your device's advertising identifier, device information, and ad interaction data to show ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud. Ads may be personalized where permitted by your choices and local law.

AdMob and its ad partners also receive your IP address, from which your approximate location (such as your country or city) may be estimated. The App itself does not request access to your device's location (GPS).

The App includes SDKs from the following ad partners: Unity Ads, Meta Audience Network, and Liftoff Monetize. Other ad partners may take part through Google's bidding; see Google's list of ad technology providers. Learn more in How Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Google Firebase

We use the following services provided by Google:

• Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports (device model, OS version, app version, crash trace, a log of the App's recent actions, which may include file names, and a random installation ID).
• Google Analytics for Firebase: how the App is used (events such as the App being opened or features being used), device information, approximate location (such as country or city, estimated from your IP address), a random app instance ID, and, where permitted, your advertising identifier. It does not include your photos, text, or other content.
• Firebase Remote Config: delivers app settings using a random installation ID.
• Firebase App Check: verifies that requests come from a genuine copy of the App.

Purchases

Payments are handled by Google Play; we never receive your payment details.

We share data only with the services listed in this policy. Each of them handles data under its own privacy policy and its terms with us, which require it to protect the data at least as described in this policy.

Security

Data the App sends to the services above is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Data stored by the App is kept in the App's storage on your device and protected by your device's security features. No method is completely secure, but we limit the data the App collects to what is described in this policy.

How long information is kept

• Information on your device: until you delete it or uninstall the App.
• Crash reports: about 90 days.
• Analytics data: up to 14 months after your last use of the App.
• Advertising data: according to the policies of Google and its ad partners.

Your choices

• Android: in your device's Ads settings (for example, Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Security & privacy > Privacy > Ads, depending on the device), you can delete or reset your advertising ID.
• EEA, UK, and Switzerland: the App asks for your consent to personalized ads using Google's consent form. To change your choice, reset the App (on Android, Settings > Apps > the App > Storage & cache > Clear storage). The App will ask again the next time you open it. Note that resetting also deletes the information stored in the App. You can also contact us for help.
• Uninstalling the App stops all data collection by the App.

Deleting your information

The App has no accounts, and we do not keep information that identifies you. The services above use random identifiers, so we usually cannot tell which data belongs to you. You can still contact us to request access to or deletion of your data. We will reply within one month, delete any data we are able to locate, and explain if we cannot identify your data. Data held by the services above is also deleted automatically according to the periods listed in this policy.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International transfers

The services above may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
